Seán (Seanie) Coppinger

In the early hours of Wednesday, 28th October 2026, Seanie died peacefully surrounded by family in the care of the care of the staff at Galway Hospice.

Pre-deceased by his mother Edith in 2023.

Deeply mourned and very sadly missed by his heartbroken family; father Seán, brothers and sisters Paul (Cardiff), Alan (Vancouver), Andrew, Niamh and Kieran, sisters-in-law Bernie and Majella, his aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and wide circle of friends.

Dearly missed and forever remembered also by his Connacht family at Dexcom Stadium (Sportsground) where he spent many of his happiest years surrounded by colleagues and friends.

Funeral Arrangements

Sunday, 1st November : Seanie will repose in Mervue Funeral Parlour, within the grounds of the Church of the Holy Family (access via the Church) from 5pm. - 6:30pm. with removal afterwards into the Church.

Monday, 2nd November : Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Seanie at 11am. Following Mass, he will be laid to rest alongside his late mother in Doonane Cemetery, Doonaun, Co. Galway (H53 CK63).

Donations, if desired, can be made in memory of Seanie to Galway Hospice.
