Funeral Notice
Formerly of St. Brendan's Avenue (Sickeen)
On the 24th June 2026, Rita died peacefully, surrounded by her family and in the wonderful care of the staff of St. Nicholas' Ward, Galway University Hospital.
Pre-deceased by her brothers Hugh, Paddy, Martin, Richard, Pete and Gerry, and sister Margaret.
Deeply mourned and very sadly missed by her devoted husband of 59 years Fred, sons Malcolm and Keith and daughter Janai. Fondly remembered and mourned also by her brother Gabriel, daughters-in-law Teresa and Ciara, Janai's partner Chris and her four adored grandchildren Eoin, Dara, Alice and Louis, whom she cherished dearly.
Funeral Arrangements
Monday, 29 June : Reposing at the O'Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, Galway from 5pm. - 6:30pm. No removal.
Tuesday, 30 June : Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Rita on arrival at St. Joseph's Church, Presentation Road, at 11am. Following Mass she will be laid to rest in Forthill Cemetery.
