On the 18th of July 2026, Michael died suddenly and unexpectedly at Galway University Hospital. Pre-deceased by his beloved wife Bridie and mother Margaret. May they be reunited again.

Deeply mourned and very sadly missed by his family; stepchildren Angela, Christopher, Tracey and Michael, sons-in-law John and Alan, daughters-in-law Carmel and Paula, adored grandchildren Shimona, Tiffany, Jez, Cole, Annabelle, Finbarr, Eoin and Eilis and great-grandchildren Evie, Kai and baby Orla. Fondly remembered by all the extended family, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements

Monday, 27th July 2026

Michael will lie in repose at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, Galway (H91 V1K8) from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Tuesday, 28th July 2026

A Committal Service will be held for Michael on arrival at Shannon Crematorium at 12 noon. This service will be live streamed but not recorded and the link and password will be included in this notice as soon as possible. Michael’s ashes will be scattered as he wished.
