Michael Kelly
Funeral Notice
It is with deep sadness that Michael’s family share the news of his sudden death on the feast of the Rosary in the arms of his family on Wednesday evening, 7th October, 2026. Michael would be the first to say a very sincere thank you to the paramedics, the A&E staff and ICU staff in Galway University Hospital who were so compassionate and caring which gave his family comfort during this terrible time.
Bereaved by his wife Mary, daughter Adrianne, sons Kyle and Evan, son-in-law Ryan, daughter-in-law Aracely, by his most beloved grandchildren Zara and Cillian, the wider family and friends, especially his best friend Tom McGowan, colleagues and students at ATU.
I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree,
And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow,
Dropping from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings;
There midnight’s all a glimmer, and noon a purple glow,
And evening full of the linnet’s wings.
I will arise and go now, for always night and day
I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore;
(Taken from 'The Lake Isle of Innisfree' Poem by William Butler Yeats)
