Maureen died peacefully on Friday, 21 August 2026 with her dearly loved family by her side in the care of the Galway Clinic. Dearly beloved wife of the late Dermot and precious mother of Gráinne, Diarmad and Caomhán. Predeceased by also by her parents Mary and Paddy. Deeply mourned by her children, brother Patsy, son-in-law James, daughter-in-law Ita, sisters-in-law Joan and Mary, adored grandchildren Katie and Abbie who loved their ‘Mamó’ dearly. Fondly remembered also by the extended Nestor and Hynes family, neighbours and friends.

Maureen will lie in Repose at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue (H91V1K8) from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Removal to her home in Béal an Daingin for Reposing again at home from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Monday, 24 August 2026 Friends are welcome to come to the family home again today where Maureen will lie in Repose from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Removal from her home to arrive at Séipéal Ban Tiarna Lourdes agus Naomh Colmcille, Leitir Móir, Co. na Gaillimhe. Requiem Mass at 11.00 a.m. Livestreming link: https://www.churchtv.ie/lettermore/ Private Committal Service to follow at Shannon Crematorium.
