Marie McGuinness (née McMorrow)

Formerly of Cleaghmore, Ballinasloe.

Predeceased by her parents Myles and Anne, husband Richard, sister Josephine, brothers Denis, Maurice and Dermot

Marie (in her 96th year) passed away in the wonderful care of the staff of Aperee Living Galway (formerly Coral Haven Nursing Home) with her loving family by her side, on Thursday, 3 September 2026. She will be deeply missed by her sons Colm and David, daughter Celine, daughters-in-law Patricia and Colette, cherished grandchildren Ciara, Barry and (his wife Sinéad), Brian and (his partner Katey) and Aaron, and by her great-grandsons Fionn and Rían. Fondly remembered also by her sister Pearl (Mountbellew), brothers Leo (Texas) and Seán (Dublin). Very sadly missed by her nephews, nieces, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, David’s friend Maura, neighbours and friends.

May her kind and very gentle soul rest in peace

Marie will lie in Repose at ‘Áras Naofa’ within the grounds of the Church of St. Oliver Plunkett, Renmore (H91 YV52) from 4 p.m. with Removal at 5.30 p.m. to the adjacent Church

Monday 7 September 2026

Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Marie at 11 a.m. and following Mass she will be laid to rest with Richard RIP in the new cemetery, Bohermore. Livestream link for Mass:
