Margaret Keaney (née Murphy)

Formerly of Granlahan, Co. Roscommon.

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Margaret Keaney on 23 September 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She is predeceased by her beloved granddaughter Emma, dearly loved parents Margaret and Jack and sisters Mary, Catherine and Theresa.

Sadly, missed by her husband Michael, children Gráinne, Sinéad, Diarmuid, Deirdre and Maeve, grandchildren Aisling, Aoife, Róisín, Naoise, Dónal, Muireann, Amy, James, Jack, Ally, Ryan, Jamie, Robyn, Molly, Aaron, Katie, Anna, Danny and Tony. Mourned and fondly remembered also by her much-loved siblings Nan, Ger, Michael and Martin, sons-in-law Alan, John, James and Niall and daughter-in-law Anne. Margaret thought warmly of her relatives, neighbours and wonderful friends.

Funeral arrangements

Sunday 27th September 2026.

Margaret will lie in Repose at home at St. Mary's Road (H91TD56) from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Margaret's home is opposite St. Mary's College. Parking spaces available at the Bridge Club.

Monday 28th September, 2026.

Removal from her home at 10.30 a.m., walking to the Church. Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Margaret on arrival at St. Joseph’s Church, Presentation Road at 11 a.m. (H91 YA30). A Private Committal Service will take place at 3 p.m. at Shannon Crematorium.

No flowers please. Memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by Croí.

Messages of sympathy and support may be left online. There will not be a physical book of condolence at the funeral. Thank you for your thoughtfulness.
