Margaret Hickey (née Madden)

Margaret passed away peacefully at Galway University Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Donal and much loved mother of Sinéad and Kenneth. Predeceased by her brothers Michael and James and by her sister Mary.

Deeply mourned and sadly missed by her daughter and son, son-in-law Conor, daughter-in-law Sharon, sister Patsy and brother John. Margaret will be fondly remembered with great love and affection by her grandchildren, Saoirse, Jack, Dara, Luke and James, sisters-in-law Brenda and Clodagh, brother-in-law Paul, the extended Hickey and Madden family, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements:

Tuesday 20th October, 2026 :

Reposing at the O' Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, Galway (H91 V1K8) from 5.00 p.m. with Removal at 6.30 p.m. to Christ the King Church, Salthill.

Wednesday 21st October, 2026 :

Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Margaret at 11.00 a.m. Following Mass she will be laid to rest with her husband Donal in Reilig Realt na Mara, Furbo, Co. Galway.

Family flowers only. Donations if desired in memory of Margaret to Galway Hospice.

Please approach the funeral parlour on foot from Fr. Burke Park.

Fr. Griffin Road, The Claddagh, Henry Street, Sea Road, The Crescent, Dr. Colohan Road and Presentation Road.

Car Parks in the area include The Bish, Spanish Arch, Claddagh Church and Mill Street.

There will be very few car spaces available on Munster Avenue. Please note that there are ongoing Road Works at Salthill Church
