Funeral Notice

Formerly of Kiltimagh, Co. Mayo

It is with great sadness that Margaret’s family announce her unexpected death at Galway University Hospital on Friday, 4th September 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her beloved son Brendan Jnr. and by her parents, Annie and John.

Margaret will be deeply loved and forever missed by her devoted husband Brendan, her adoring children Edel, Aisling, Adrian, Olivia and Aoibhinn, her beloved twin sisters Ann and Ethna, her daughter-in-law Carmel and her sons-in-law Gerry, Eoin and Noel. She was a much-loved and immensely proud grandmother to Gavin, Andrea, Aoife, Shane, Adrian Jnr., Adam and Grace, and step-grandmother to Gearóid, Saoirse and Katie. Margaret will also be sadly missed by her sister-in-law Helen (USA), brothers-in-law Paddy and Walter, nephews Karl, Joe, Brendan and John, nieces Teresa and Helen, her extended family, many wonderful friends and neighbours.

Margaret gave generously of her heart and soul throughout her life. A gentle and loving mother, wife, sister and grandmother, she will be remembered with great love by all who knew her.

May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace

Funeral Arrangements

Tuesday, 8th September 2026

Margaret will lie in repose in ‘Tearmann Mhuire’, within the grounds of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Oranmore (H91 XC61), from 4.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. There will be no removal into the adjacent Church on Tuesday evening.

Wednesday, 9th September 2026

Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Margaret on arrival at the Church at 12 noon. Following Mass, she will be laid to rest in Rinville Cemetery, Oranmore.
