Karolanne Barry (née Mooney)

Formerly of Belfield Gardens, Limerick City

In the early hours of Saturday 15th August, Karolanne died peacefully at home in the care of her much-loved family. She bore her illness bravely and without fuss with the excellent support she received from all those involved in her care and more recently from the palliative care team of the Galway Hospice.

Deeply mourned by her heartbroken daughter Meghan, son Killian and their father Kevin, by her long term and much-loved partner Dominick, her adored grandchildren Florence, Lucas, Kiriana and Arthur, by her siblings Lillie, Donie, Eleanor and Fiona, by Meghan’s partner Marcus, Kevin’s wife Joyce and their daughter Allison, relatives and lovely friends.

You can shed tears and believe that she is gone

or

you can smile and recall all, because she has lived

Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her, turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday

or

you can be full of the love that you shared

and be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

Funeral Arrangements

Monday 17th August 2026

Karolanne will lie in Repose at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue (H91V1K8) from 5 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. / 7 p.m.

Wednesday 19th August 2026

A Committal Service for relatives will take place At Shannon Crematorium. Private Cremation to follow. No flowers please.

Memorial donations, given in remembrance of Karolanne will be sincerely appreciated by the Galway Hospice.
