Funeral Notice

Seamount, Salthill, Galway

and formerly of

Slough, England and Knockshambo, Belmullet, Co. Mayo

John passed away peacefully at his home after a long illness on Wednesday 5th August, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his beloved son Padraic, his parents Anthony and Bridige, his brother Tony and his sister Mary.

John will be forever loved and sadly missed by his devoted wife Ann, sons Christopher, Barney and Sean, brother Jimmy and daughters-in-law, Kathryn, Kathriona, Lidia and Zoe. He will also be fondly remembered by his cherished grandchildren, James, Alannah, Grace, Jacob, Emma, Fionn, Cillian and Kate, as well as by his nieces, nephews, cousins, the extended Lally and McElhinney family, neighbours and many friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.

May his kind and gentle soul rest in peace

Funeral Arrangements:

Thursday 6th August, 2026

Reposing at the O'Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue (H91 V1K8) from 5.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.

Friday 7th August, 2026

Requiem Mass will be celebrated for John at the Church of Christ the King, Salthill on arrival at 11.00 a.m.

Following Mass he will be laid to rest in Rahoon cemetery.
