On Friday, 16th October 2026, John died peacefully in the wonderful, tender care of the staff at Áras Cois Fharraige Nursing Home, Spiddal, Co. Galway.

Pre-deceased by his infant daughter Sinead, brothers Padraig and Michael, and sisters Mary, Breege, Evelyn and Bernadette.

Beloved husband of Bernadette, loving father to Rory and Emer, grandfather to Killian, Leo, Orla, Ava, Dara and Heidi and father-in-law to Eoghan and Jane. He will be dearly missed by his adoring family.

Funeral Arrangements

Sunday, 18th October : John will lie in repose at his home at 23 The Maples, Salthill, Galway from 3pm. - 6pm. House private from 6pm.

Monday, 19th October : Requiem Mass will be celebrated for John on arrival at St. Mary's Church, Ballygar at 12 noon. Following Mass, he will be laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery.
