John (Johnnie) Flatley

On Thursday afternoon, 20th August, 2026 following a short illness, Johnnie died peacefully with his dearly loved wife and family by his side and in the wonderful care of the staff at University Hospital Galway.

Predeceased by his parents John and Catherine.

Deeply mourned by his wife Phil, his daughters Maria and Deirdre, sons Donal, Sean and Ciaran, sister Mary Burke, brothers Martin and Pat (Pa), daughters-in-law Susan and Katherine, sons-in-law Hadi and Rob, grandchildren, Owen, Laura, Ciara, Beibhin, Padraic, Ronan and Zakaria and great-grandchildren Darragh, Rebecca and Robyn. Johnnie will be fondly remembered by his many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Arrangements

Sunday, 23rd August 2026 Johnnie will lie in Repose at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue (H91V1K8) from 5 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.

Monday, 24th August, 2026 Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Johnnie at 11 a.m. at St. Columba’s Church, Castlegar. H91 E4C9

Following Mass Johnnie will be laid to rest in Rinville cemetery, Oranmore. Live streaming link for Mass: http://churchmedia.tv/st-columba and may be listened to on the Castlegar Parish Radio at 103.3 FM.
