Funeral Notice

Formerly “The Country Club”, (Forde's Pub), Hollybrook.

In the early hours of Wednesday, 12th August 2026, Helen died peacefully surrounded by her loving family, in the care of the wonderful staff in the Bons Secours Hospital, Galway.

Beloved wife of Malachy Forde, and mother to Karen and Andrew Forde.

She is deeply mourned and very sadly missed by her heartbroken family, especially her six grandchildren of whom she cherished dearly; Bodhi, Indie, Levi, Saoirse, Donnacha and Laoise.

May her vibrant spirit and beautiful soul

Funeral Arrangements

Sunday, 16th August 2026

Helen will lie in Repose at the O'Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, Galway (H91 V1K8) from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will not be a Removal to the Church this (Sunday) evening.

Monday, 17th August, 2026

Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Helen on arrival at 11 a.m. at the Church of Christ the King, Salthill. Mass will be live-streamed Here

A private cremation will follow.

Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, may be made in memory of Helen to Parkinsons Ireland.

Entrance to the Funeral Parlour and Parking Information

Please approach the funeral parlour entrance from Fr. Burke Park.

Street parking may be available on Fr. Griffin Road, within the Claddagh, Sea Road, The Crescent, Dr. Colohan Road and St. Mary's Road.

Car Parks: The Cathedral, The Bish, Claddagh Church, Spanish Arch, The Docks. All within 5-10 minutes walking distance of the funeral parlour.
